YPEK | i2b Entrepreneurship Academy

About i2b…

i2b is short for “invention + innovation = business”

The i2b Entrepreneurs Academy is an accelerator program that helps develop successful entrepreneurs by providing real world mentoring, training, and a network of support from local business leaders. We provide a launch pad to Eastern Kentucky’s most dynamic entrepreneurs by offering them an exceptional experience to develop their nascent start up ideas into viable, scalable ventures. Founded in 2013, the i2b E-Academy is a collaboration between the Young Professionals of East Kentucky, Morehead State University Innovation and Commercialization Center, and Alice Lloyd College with the goal of helping talented local entrepreneurs build relationships, get funded, and grow while remaining in Eastern Kentucky. We have united together behind our shared interest in seeing a robust entrepreneurial community continue to grow and thrive in the region.

Curriculum and Format…

The i2bE-Academy runs from March through early September.

Throughout our six-month curriculum, we work intensively with entrepreneurs to get their company into the best possible shape to grow their business ideas and refine their pitch to investors. Those accepted into the Academy will work together in a supportive community of fellow entrepreneurs, assigned mentors, and participate in training sessions and workshop. The main component of the i2b E-Academy is the Saturday session. Sessions are held for four hours on Saturday mornings. The program culminates in Showcase Day in September, when the entrepreneurs present their plans with investors, inventors, experts, and others from the entrepreneurial community. But i2b doesn’t end on Showcase Day. We and the i2b alumni network continue to help founders for the life of their company, and beyond.
